receiving love from a Moroccan newspaper

I 've been in Paris now for almost two weeks and have written a press release to at least a hundred Dutch and French newspapers and magazines. I wrote a press release  in Dutch, French and English. None of them gave me a reply, let alone took any interest. This hasn't discouraged me, although I did feel disappointed. But as an imam of the outcasts I can handle rejection, and as an Avant-Garde Imam I am supposed to also think out of the box, so it is time for plan B ;). This lady imam is not one to be ignored 🌹

The funny thing is that I have sent only one press release to a Moroccan newspaper. It's the best and most famous quality newspaper of Morocco: the HESPRESS. I directly got a reply they have made an INTERVIEW with me! The interview will be published one of these days.

I feel much love for the country of origin of my parents. On a world scale Morocco is a very important country. It was the first country to recognize the USA as an independent country. It was the one country in the world whose King refused to deliver its Jews to the nazi's and asked for a Star of David for his whole family, because when you touch the Jews of Morocco, you touch all Moroccans. And it was also the only country to offer protection to the greatgreat grandson of the Prophet Muhammed: Moulay Idriss, the father of the first king of Morocco.
When he fled Bagdad as a refugee with a prize on his head, because the descendants of the prophet since the beginning have been persecuted by 'fellow Muslims' who wanted all the power for themselves, it were the Berbers of the Meknes region who took him under their wings and made him a peacemaker between all the war faring tribes. His son became the legendary first King of Morocco: Moulay Idriss. So it is my honour to be interviewed by a newspaper from this legendary country of my ancestors!

  1. Congratulations with the interview, sister Salima! At least the Moroccans are smart enough to realize the value of your journey and your work in general! Those Dutch and French newspapers have missed their chances, too bad for them haha.
